Cricket🏏 is a world-famous sport. Cricket is played with a bat and ball and involves two competing sides of 11 players. England introduced cricket to the world and at present, it is a national sport of England. William Gilbert Grace is considered the father of cricket🤵.

England, Australia, and South Africa were the first countries to play cricket. In addition, India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, New Zealand, West Indies, and etc play cricket at present.  There are three formats of cricket matches internationally played. Such as Test matches, one-day internationals, and T20 International. In 1877 England and Australia played the first test match and Australia won this match💥.

At present 12 countries play a test match. Same as test matches England and Australia played ODI’s first match in 1971 and in 2003 invented the T20 cricket format. 

Sri Lankan cricket team.🧡 

Sri Lanka played its first test match in 1982 against England and Bandura Warnapura lead the team. In 1985 Sri Lanka win a test match firstly💥.  In the cricket world cup history, Sri Lanka won the championship two times. The first time was the 1996 world cup🏆 and the second one is the 2014 T20 world cup🏆. Mr. Arjuna Ranatunga lead the world cup team in 1996 and Mr. Lasith Malinga lead the 2014 world cup team💪.

Sri Lanka has contributed many talented players to cricket. Such as Sanath Jayasuriya, Kumar Sangakkara, Mahela jayawardana, Aravinda silva, Arjuna Ranathunga, Maven Athapatthu, Muttiah Muralitharan. 

Among these Kumara Sangakkara is my hero😍. I love him a lot. He was a very classy batsman and talented wicketkeeper in the world💪. He put the many records. He won many awards and in 2019, he was appointed President of the MCC. 

At present Dasun Shanaka and Dimuth Karunarathne lead the Sri Lanka cricket team. Now we have the world’s number one T20 bowler🥇. He names as, Wanidu Hasaranga💙. I love cricket a lot😍. Now I waiting for the 2022 world cup to start👌🕛.
